What is Exchange?
The Exchange club of Gratiot County is a Community Service Organization comprised of people dedicated to the youth of our community.
Exchange Club of Gratiot County is a part of the National
Exchange Club, a nonprofit organization comprised of more than 33,000 men and women
throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The history dates back to the late
1800's when a group of businessmen began meeting for lunch in Detroit. At that time,
the group was known as the Booster's Club and, later the name was changed to Exchange
because the exchange of information was the primary focus. The organization was formally
incorporated and headquarters were established in Toledo in 1917. In 1979, Child Abuse
Prevention was adopted as the Exchange's national project.
We, in Gratiot County, are proud to be a part of this
active, vibrant network of youth oriented Americans working to serve their fellow man and
improve the quality of life for all our citizens.
